Hey guys, I just got back from spring break vacation last night. Sorry I didn't give you guys much notice, my parents kind of made it a surprise for my siblings and I. They basically said 'pack your things, we're leaving in an hour' and I was like 'huh, I'm glad I didn't have any plans made with friends or anything.' But needless to say, that's why I haven't been here.
I just got finished rereading all posts and thought about what if we somehow connected the two conflicts we have going? Merllum's with the golden brotherhood 'recruting' members, and my Lokian children disappearing into the night? If not, that's fine, I just thought that I should sometime soon "run" into you two on the road...
So you're both headed for Sykport (is it "Syk" or is it a misspelling of "Sky"? I've seen both spellings on the posts).
Let me know if you guys had any ideas.

I think its a good idea! ^^ and I defiantly understand parents springing a trip on their kids (I'm just glad its never happened to me!)
And I think its Skyport (I may have made the typo xD I read my posts carefully... but can't catch them all!)

It's Sykport, actually, pronounced sick-port. The city isn't the cleanest of places.
The Golden Brotherhood definitely needs new members. It would not be unlikely they are planning on overthrowing the local government with a grown army, or anything like that. Children would be that much harder to kill, you know, someone might morally object to that. I'm not sure how mature that gets though.
Halveradik certainly wouldn't do any of the killing, and I think both of your characters, (especially yours, Ditto, seeing as the kids are Lokian) would be reasonable in finding grounds with which to object.
I see a certain amount of brainwashing possible, with the kidnapped kids taken from all over, really. It could be that the Gold Brotherhood simply wishes to ransom them off, with a desire to use the ransom money to purchase something sinister.
If there will be a confrontation with the Gold Brotherhood, which would seem very likely, Axa would be a good ally. Tacey might flee? I'm not sure if she would fight or run, depending on the odds. Halveradik would gladly die, if he thought it was to serve Nemo's cause, or even join the Gold Brotherhood if there were any signs that doing so would please Nemo.
Also, quick question; how are we going to handle gods in this? Are they really there? Very tangibly setting down rules and guidelines? Or are they more the type to sit back and do little? Or nothing at all? Halveradik's clockwork divinator may or may not be a holy implement, in the same way that a laptop would appear magical to anyone from the Middle Ages.
I'm throwing this all out there. I'd like to know something of what to expect when our characters get together, or we can just play it by ear.

Tacey might actually flee-- if it weren't for the kids xD She likes kids! And despite her not liking to get caught up in a tight spot she'd be willing to risk it for kids. She might not get involved in the actual fighting and instead focus on making sure the kids are okay, but you never know. She'd young and still learning about life outside of a noble household so well see where she goes!
As for Gods I'd say play around with it. We could have some Gods that do exist and some that are complete myths and even some that aren't really Gods at all- just overly powerful (and power hungry) individuals :3

So Axa is a ranger by nature, so he can go both ways (fight/help the kids). He also has a little bit of magical ability but I haven't quite developed it yet - it isn't significantly powerful.
As for the gods, I say they could 'be there' but that they don't/won't play any major threating/major changing role to the story, because then that's like having a god-character on your side/against you; I've been in said kind of roleplays and they weren't that much fun, but that's just my opinion.
And as for deciding on our path to write towards, I definitely think we should definitely have an idea, but certainly not outline the entire journey. I'm assuming that this is going to be the central conflict, but I do think that each character should have their own personal conflict to encounter and overcome alongside the main quest - those of course be up to the author.
So the next question is, is the danger in Sykport, or will the information/lack of information in Sykport send us elsewhere?

I think this conflict should lead us into something bigger and that Sykport is only the beginning. As for outlining that might be good: at least to the point that we know where we are heading in the near future. And personal conflicts are for the best since they help characters grow and the story progress as the characters find themselves questioning/strengthening their convictions.

Indeed, I thought Sykport wouldn't be the area of main conflict, and I figured the Gold Brotherhood would ultimately be under the thrall of something else, or would lead the characters to another conflict, perhaps one that takes us back to Artonia, or elsewhere.
There's a big plot event I have planned for Halveradik in Sykport, so some level of interactions in Sykport is vital. Other than that, I won't ask for much.

Was that your big plot event? Well it certainly makes for a lot of conflict, but where are you two going to take it now? I think something major needs to happen with Tacey really soon. If you're having difficulty coming up with your next move lets collaborate some. I think that we should merge all of our characters at one point, what do you all think? Of course, we all need to agree on something in order to do this... What if somehow something leads the two sets of companions to the Moonshine Lake?

Ditto ~ I think it would be best if we keep our two groups separate for the moment, seeing that we have enough to work with already in our respective areas - Kotou/Merllum's huge intertwined-families conflict, and our personal strife...There's a lot on both ends to still work out. It seems that the goal will eventually be to merge both paths towards the missing children, but until that time there is plenty of room for character development and display.

I did not even see this until now.
Ok: The big plot point hasn't happened yet, although it is fast approaching. You'll know what it is when it happens. It won't be a piece of "oh this doesn't work so we go here", like the post I think Ditto is referring to. It will be more of a "why on Earth would he do that?"
I'll release Arkkur's character sheet after the next post I make, and you'll see what's going on. Also; Mame Catalyn is totally a lady.
